“Advanced by FAG” – Increased Comfort and Efficiency for E-Bikes

Intelligent sensor bottom brackets make e-bikes more attractive

FAG’s decades of experience in the development and production of bearings for bicycles are reflected in the new bottom brackets with sensors. E-bikes and pedelecs fitted with these units have a technical advantage and gain greater acceptance in the marketplace. Through precise control and top class smooth running as a result of the “Advanced by FAG” friction optimization, riding enjoyment is increased by a considerable margin.

“Advanced by FAG” – State-of-the-Art Smoothness for Bicycles

A Tradition with a Bright Future: FAG Bottom Bracket Bearings

For over 120 years, FAG has been a world leader in precision rolling bearings. Company founder Friedrich Fischer knew as far back as 1883 that ball bearings are actually synonymous with energy efficiency. After all, the purpose of a ball bearing is to reduce friction, which, in turn, consumes less energy. Consequently, his first bearings were mostly installed – and how could it be otherwise? – in bicycles.

INA Metal-Polymer Composite Plain Bearings

Durable – low-friction – economical

The new INA metal-polymer composite plain bearings enable economical solutions in many industrial and automotive applications. They are particularly effective with oscillating movements and achieve a rating life several times higher than that of bearings with conventional materials. In addition, all our new plain bearings are lead-free and, therefore, environmentally friendly.

BEARINX®-online Shaft Calculation

With our software you can now determine actual stresses while taking shaft deflection and rolling bearing deflection behavior into account. And of course, exact calculations for the internal load distribution in the bearing are performed, including contact pressure with the actual rolling element profile.

Bottom Bracket Bearing BBRS

Sensor bottom bracket bearing for e-bikes and pedelecs

The performance capability and range of e-bikes und pedelecs are determined to a significant extent by the components used. FAG has decades of experience in the development and production of bicycle bottom bracket bearings, which can be seen once again in the sensor bottom bracket bearing BBRS.

Axial Angular Contact Roller Bearings - High load carrying capacity with very small cross sections

Axial Angular Contact Roller Bearings

High load carrying capacity with very small cross sections

Axial ball bearings and axial cylindrical roller bearings are suitable for supporting high axial loads. However, these bearings should not be loaded in a radial direction and, on account of their cross section, require a relatively large radial installation space in the adjacent construction. Furthermore, single direction designs only support axial loads in one direction. Yet applications frequently call for compact, load-bearing and rigid solutions, which can reliably support combined loads and moments with one bearing arrangement.

“Advanced by FAG” – Improved smooth running for skaters

The main aspects of a bearing that interest skaters are: - How fast is the bearing? - How long will it last? - How does it react to environmental influences? - How heavy is it?

Special coating Corrotect®

Anti-corrosion protection for rolling bearings and precision components

“Rust” is public enemy number 1 for metals. The Schaeffler Group continues to fight back. For example with Corrotect®, an extremely thin, electroplated coating. This gives long term protection of rolling bearings and seal running surfaces against corrosion.
